What does the Alphabet Soup of certifications mean?
The long list of letters, or certifications, behind my name is reflection of my desire to never stop learning.
* LC = Lighting Certified. The NCQLP has established a certification process by which practitioners in lighting and related fields, through testing, demonstrate their knowledge and experience across the lighting professions.
* CID = Certified Interior Designer.
* EIT = Engineer in Training. A professional designation from the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) used in the United States to designate a person certified by the state as having completed a minimum of three years of post-secondary school at an ABET-accredited engineering program, or related science curriculum approved by the Board, and passed the NCEES Examination
* Associate IALD = International Association of Lighting Designers. Above and beyond LC requirements, IALD candidates must spend the majority of his/her professional time on architectural lighting design. Associate members must adhere to the IALD Vision and Mission Statements, the IALD Code of Ethics, and the Guidelines for Specification Integrity
* LEED AP = Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional
* WELL AP = WELL Building Accredited Professional
* CEPE = Certified Energy Plans Examiner, someone who has demonstrated a broad level of understanding and experience with California's Title-24 Building Energy Standards and has gone through extensive training in both the Residential and Non-Residential Title-24 energy codes.
